
On behalf of London and Quadrant Housing Trust, PDA secured planning permission on appeal for the re-development of a site to the rear of the High Street, Beckenham, Kent.
The proposal comprised the erection of 3 four storey blocks comprising 9 one bedroom, 32 two bedroom and 3 three bedroom flats, with 37 car parking spaces, bicycle parking, landscaping and access.
The key issues considered in the appeal concerned the perceived overdevelopment of the site, impact on the living conditions of adjacent properties and the need for affordable housing and other planning contributions. The appeal was promoted following non-determination of the application and an application for an award of costs against the Council was successful.
