“This conference provided a timely opportunity to discuss and debate the recently introduced changes to the planning system. Planning has been set a challenge to deliver growth and meet future needs, but must now do so in a way that embraces localism. The key point is to understand that these agendas are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but it will require an integrated and inclusive approach to planning strategy by both developers and local authorities.”
